RESEARCH

Generally speaking, my main interest is in computer vision and pattern recognition.

Current Project

Robust principal component analysis related. Read more: Low-Rank Matrix Recovery via Convex Optimization.

Past Projects

Face recognition using anisotropic dual-tree complete wavelet packet, proposed face recognition using anisotropic dual-tree complex wavelet packet (ADT-CWP), Mar. 2008 ~ Dec. 2008. Compared with Gabor wavelets based face recognition method, our proposed methods can not only obtain better recognition results, but also inhere much less computational complexity. The preliminary results have been accepted by the international conference on pattern recognition (ICPR) 2008 and the full results have been submitted to Pattern Recognition.

Scalable video coding using over-complete wavelet transforms, National Science Foundation of China (NSFC), Jan. 2006 ~ Dec. 2008. Overview the sparse representation algorithms by classifying these algorithms into three categories: greedy pursuit algorithms, inverse problem-based algorithms, and iterative shrinkage algorithms.
